Dietary Guidelines 2010

New Dietary Guidelines for Americans released today:

Balancing Calories
  • Enjoy your food but reduce portion size
  • Avoid oversized portions.  
Foods to Increase
  • Make half your plate fruits and vegetables.
  • Switch to fat-free or low-fat (1%) milk.
Foods to Reduce
  • Compare sodium on food labels and choose the foods with lowest sodium.
  • Drink water instead of sugary drinks.
